Change Is Inevitable – Shoe Baker ATL

Change Is Inevitable

  • by Nick Reynolds

Change is inevitable, and sometimes it presents us with unique opportunities that we simply cannot resist. Two weeks ago, I was approached with a remarkable chance to teach Pre-K, and after much consideration, I decided to embark on this new adventure. As someone who has been working with the next generation for over a decade, this opportunity aligns perfectly with my passion for education and child development. I want to share with you the exciting details of this new role, how it connects to my creative endeavors, and the impact it can have on the Atlanta school system.

For those who may not be aware, my journey with children has been a constant source of inspiration for me. It led me to write a book called "Navigating Back to Wonder" two years ago. This book explores the idea of awakening the childlike wonder and curiosity in adults by rediscovering ourselves and embracing new possibilities. Little did I know that this book would become a stepping stone towards a new chapter in my life.

When the opportunity to teach Pre-K presented itself, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and alignment with my current plans. This role allows me to further develop art-based curriculum for the city of Atlanta, something I am deeply passionate about. But what makes it even more special is the chance to introduce the creative curriculum of shoe design into schools within the Atlanta school system.

As I embrace this new journey, I understand that it will require some adjustments. The time I can dedicate to creating custom shoes will be reduced, but please rest assured that I am committed to fulfilling all current orders and closing any potential orders that may come my way. I appreciate your understanding as I navigate this transition and strive to find a balance between my teaching responsibilities and my creative endeavors.

I wanted to take a moment to provide you with an update on the three designs that are currently in production. The Grinch AF1, Winter-wonderland AF1, and the Volcano AF1 are all progressing well, and I will be completing them in that order. I apologize for any lack of communication in recent weeks, as I have been focused on adjusting to my new role and its responsibilities.

I am incredibly grateful for your continued support and understanding during this exciting time. This new journey as a Pre-K teacher opens up doors for me to make a lasting impact on the lives of young children and contribute to the development of creative curriculum in the Atlanta school system. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out. Thank you for being a part of this journey, and I look forward to sharing more updates with you as I navigate this new chapter in my life.

While in motion,

-Shoe Baker
